I love this quilt! I have been wanting to make a simple black and white quilt for Christmas for quite a while and when I saw this fabric with the magnolias, I was just smitten with it and knew it was time to start making! It is perfect fabric for what I wanted and as a bonus the magnolias added a little southern charm to it.

I designed this easy quilt with all my beginners in mind! Seriously, I made it in a weekend. Now granted if you look close you will see that it is not quilted yet, but I made the decision not to quilt it myself and send it to a longarmer. Since I waited to the last minute, it will be after Christmas before it’s done! But that’s okay because I am good to go for Christmas 2021! I also made a few blocks the wrong size that I will turn into a table runner or throw pillows to match.

There are 2 blocks used to make the quilt. One is made using a sewing machine and the other is made with an embroidery machine. The woodland style trees were all done in my embroidery machine. There are only 2 color changes, the trunk and the tree, and both are finished with a blanket stitch. The other block is a simple irish chain block.

I am working on the instructions and will release this pattern in 2021 giving you plenty of time to make one for yourself and maybe a friend or two!

Thanks for reading and I’m wishing you all a very Merry Christmas, Melissa
